On the date of September 10, 2004, combat commenced between the Allied and Axis forces. The Location was the lake at the Joppa Super 8 Motel in Joppa Maryland.

We had quite a few Rookies signed up this year along with a continginent of battlers from OAF in Onterio, Canada! "Pav" Pavlosky was the site host for this one and did a wonderful job of cordinating the motel, site, and food. Part of the reason for using this new lake is to test for a possible National location.

The cost per. combatant was $20 - this covered Lake insurance, CO2, lunch on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and Sodas at the lake.

The hotel was the Joppa Super 8 Motel in Joppa Maryland. http://travel.yahoo.com/p-hotel-362124-super_8_motel_joppa-i

It is 1/2 mile off I-95 at the intersection of Routes 40 and Route 152. Nearby are IHOP and Dennys for Breakfast. We were also 20 minutes from the Inner harbor! We used local resturants for for Dinner Friday and Saturday nights The Pond was about 1/3 an acre and as deep as Rhode Island in some spots although we did not really test those with any sunken ships. Rooms were $63.32 per night tax included.

A open pavilion provided many with a good location to set up the tables and boats, Pav used a small "covered" one himself however. The action started well on the first day with only a limited fleet of about 10 (many more would arrive later in the day and on Saturday and Sunday).

There were quite a few sinks on all of the battle days and the lake provided a strange kind of weed which was very difficult to remove from the props, so warships emerged with a good long beard attached to the props. Weed Problem
